You will learn about their different characteristics, speed capabilities and hunting habits. You will also be shown some of the skills essential in falconry such as tying a falconers knot, attaching a swivel and oiling the jesses.
Then you'll have the chance to fly some of them to the fist under the watchful eye of a trainer. After a safety briefing your session will include learning how to weigh, pick up and settle a bird on a perch. You will then be able to watch as a bird of prey soars through the sky and lands on your glove. This will be a memorable end to an exhilarating day.
All equipment will be provided although it is recommended that you take a pair of wellington boots with you and wear suitable outdoor clothing for the time of year. Don't forget to bring a camera because there will be plenty of fantastic photo opportunities.
