Walvis Bay is a paradise filled with bird song and home to many African and migratory birds including flamingos and pelicans. Flamingos are very social birds, and you will be enchanted by the site of thousands of them swimming in the water, flying above you or standing on one leg.
Walvis Bay was declared a RAMSAR site and is an important breeding ground. On your way back from the lagoon to Swakopmund you will stop off at Bird Paradise where you will have the chance to feed the birds as well as explore the beautiful Guano Island.
