Bird Guide Britain: A Field Guide To British Birds is the first 'smart' guide to British birds available to download to your iPhone.
Bird Guide Britain checks your location and date on start-up, then selects the birds you are likely to see. Tap 'Here & Now' to see your local selection or tap 'Show All' to see all birds. It is also the first true field guide to British birds, featuring a variety of ways to search and sort which will help you identify a bird as quickly as possible.
147 birds are currently included, with 377 photos and 221 songs and calls. Nearly all common and locally common small and medium sized birds are included: song birds, owls, woodpeckers, gulls, pigeons, parrots and more, plus ducks, geese, swans and the most common birds of prey. Future updates will add waders and game birds.
Each bird has its own species screen, a 'one-stop-shop' for facts, images, distribution map, songs and calls, plus a link to Wikipedia. Here you can mark a bird as 'seen' and make your own personal notes about it. And for those odd spare moments, tap one of the random birds on the menu screen to learn new bird facts.
