Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary Tour
Visit Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary and see many species of exotic birds in their natural habitats. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is also known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park and is one of India's most famous bird sanctuaries.

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary Tour

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to over 300 species of birds and a popular stop-over point for many migratory birds. You could spot Siberian cranes, Saras cranes, cormorants and kingfishers in this beautiful landscape.

Bharatpur was once a semi-arid region that would only fill with water in the monsoon months. The Maharaja of Bharatpur wanted to create a shooting range and diverted the water from a nearby canal to the park to create what is now India's most famous bird sanctuary. Before it became Keoladeo Ghana National Park, it was also a favourite hunting ground for the British viceroys.

You will begin your tour by being picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. You will be accompanied by an English speaking guide to the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. You are only allowed to tour the park in a cycle rickshaw to conserve the area - however, this adds to the charm of the entire experience.

As well as birds you will also be able to watch other wildlife including golden jackal, striped hyena, fishing cat, jungle cat, nilgai, sambar, blackbuck and wild board. After a tour of the park you will be dropped off back at your hotel.

The Bharaptput Bird Sanctuary Tour runs from either Agra or Jaipur.
